Lucie (Toms) Singh, 60, of Independence, Missouri, lost consciousness following an allergic reaction on Monday, February 7, 2022. Despite her tenacity and the best efforts of hospital staff, tragically she was unable to recover. Surrounded by family, she left us on Thursday, February 10.
Lucie was predeceased by her parents, Howard Toms and Marian (Van Tuyl) Toms.
She is survived by her children (Simaran and Cedric), boyfriend (Billy), brothers (Gary, Lynn, and Kevin) and sisters (Laura, Sharon, and Diane).
A brief message from her children:
Mom was a generous sister, neighbor, friend… Even with complete strangers, it brought her immense joy to be there for someone who might be struggling. She would devote her time and energy to such efforts without question and always resisted taking anything in return. She was a woman of strength who persevered through many difficulties, and her love and care for family and friends was unrelenting.
It is our hope to celebrate these and so many other things that made her who she was with this online space, and reminisce about the time we were given with her.
Thank you all for the outpouring of sympathy and support during our family’s time of mourning. We are honored to see how much she meant to so many people, and privileged beyond words to receive so much tenderness on her behalf.
All we are, and ever hope to be, we owe to her.
— Cedric and Simaran
